Leicester Compact AGM - Change of Date
The Compact AGM, which was timetabled for 5.30pm on Wednesday 28th January 2009 has been postponed until April. A new date will be organised and advertised shortly.
We are pleased to announce that Rukshana Omar is the winner of the Leicester Volunteer Centre Prize Draw.
Visitors to the centre during the last year were invited to complete a survey commenting on the service they received. The completed questionnaires were then entered into a £50 cash prize draw.

A consultation document that sets out the strategy for City of Leicester and County of Leicestershire to maximise the benefits for the whole of the Leicestershire, arising from the opportunities presented by London securing the role to host the Olympics and Paralympic games in 2012 has been released, and has been attached below.
Baroness Neuberger, the Government's independent volunteering champion,
is asking third sector and statutory organisations for their views on
volunteering in the criminal justice system.
Baroness Neuberger was appointed as volunteering champion in June 2007.
She is working closely with Phil Hope, the Minister for the Third
The Department of Health launched on the 3rd June the above strategy for consultation. The aim is to promote the role of volunteering in the context of health and social care reform, and inform improvements to support volunteering across the healthand social care system.
The consultation workshop is being held on Tuesday 29th July 2008 at NSPCC Training Centre from 10am - 1pm.
Volunteers’ Week takes place from 1-7 June every year and celebrates the contribution of the country’s 20 million volunteers to their communities.
