PPS Volunteers

Parent Partnership Service recruits Independent Parental Supporters (IPS) and other volunteers to:

  • provide telephone support and advice
  • meet with parents to give them information and practical help
  • accompany parents on school visits and to meetings
  • help with administrative support

Do you think you have the following qualities to be a volunteer with the Parent Partnership Service?

Are you:

  • able to be a good listener?
  • able to view a situation from different points of view?
  • able to inspire trust and confidence?
  • willing to learn?
  • open to asking questions about what you do and how you do it?
  • able to develop positive relationships with a variety of people?
  • able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people?

We provide training for volunteers

  • ongoing support and training

We provide support for volunteers

  • a support worker and other staff who are available for one-to-one advice and information
  • small groups for supervision and support that meet once a term
  • support group meetings, bringing together all volunteers once a month
  • being a volunteer with the Parent Partnership Service offers you ways of supporting people in a rewarding way, giving you space and support to learn and develop
  • the opportunity to develop skills for employment and career
