Interest is growing in volunteering at Special Olympics Leicester 2009 -
with a year to go to the Special Olympics National Summer Games over 175
people have registered their interest in being a volunteer at this major
event for our City , and our Special Olympics web pages have been viewed
over 700 times.

The Compact AGM, which was timetabled for 5.30pm on Wednesday 28th January 2009 has been postponed until April. A new date will be organised and advertised shortly.

Leicester Volunteer Centre Prize Draw Winner
We are pleased to announce that Rukshana Omar is the winner of the Leicester Volunteer Centre Prize Draw.
Visitors to the centre during the last year were invited to complete a survey commenting on the service they received. The completed questionnaires were then entered into a £50 cash prize draw.
Grassroots Grants Additional Deadline for County Groups - 9th February 2009
VAL is holding an additional Grassroots Grants panel for projects working in the county.
If you are a group working in the county and would like to apply for funding please ensure that your application is submitted to VAL by 9th February 2009. Your application will receive an outcome by the end of February 2009.
