The City Council has published a draft of a new contract for voluntary sector organisations they fund. The period of consultation runs until 5th December 2008. Meetings, at which the City Council representative will be present, will be held at VAL on:

• 15th October at 10.00 am - minutes of meeting available to download below
• 30th October at 5.30 pm
• 12th November at 2.00 pm

VAL has obtained legal advice on the draft contract on behalf of voluntary and community groups to raise awareness of the pros and cons of the new draft contract. This has been forwarded to the Council for a response. A document containing an extract of the legal advice is available below. A copy of the notes from the first consultation meeting will also be available within the next few days.
