VAL can confirm that Karen Chouhan, anti-racism campaigner and Director of the influential 1990 Trust will be a speaker at the LCEN event on 20th May 2008 at the Peepul Centre, Orchardson Avenue, Leicester.
Karen aims to raise awareness among key opinion formers in government, Non Governemt Organisations and the media about the community-driven approach she advocates to delivering race equality.
She will talk about how individuals can effect change by having a voice and the importance of having your say. Karen will share tips on how to have your say with most effect; moving away from anger to positively voicing and campaigning for solutions.
Karen will be joining Councillor Ross Willmott, Leader of Leicester City Council and Sheila Lock, Chief Executive of Leicester City Council who have also confimed to be Guest Speakers.
