Children's and Young People's Services includes services for those age 0 to 19 years, 25 years where there is a disability or special need and services to families.
VAL manages the Workforce development Project, across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
In Summer 2008, funding to local infrastructure changed and VAL now support this area of work through the Health and Well-Being Network and the Parenting Network. In Autumn 2008 the Children's & Young People's Services Forum and the Adult's Services Forum merged, becoming the Health and Well-Being forum.
Our purpose is to enable local groups and individuals to:
- Ensure the needs of children, young people and their families are represented within services planning, design and development.
- Influence service design and delivery of children's and young people's services.
- Deliver high quality services to children, young people, and their families.
How does VAL help you to have your say?
Find out more about:
- The ACE Project - a project that gives young people a voice, and enables them to be active in service design and planning for services for young people.
- The Parenting Network - enables interested parents to have a strong and active role in parenting service design and delivery
- The VCS Representatives - individuals from groups or communities elected, nominated or recruited from local groups and communities. Representatives support the voluntary & community sector to engage with, participate in and influence service planning and development within Leicester Partnership.
